Bluetongue Vaccine - Warning Issued for Sharing Dose Dottles

At this weeks meeting of the Bluetongue Stakeholders Group the RBST raised the issue of sharing vaccine bottles for breeders with small numbers of stock. Defra advised that sharing is only allowed by a vet splitting the bottles in their surgery either by by dispensing pre-filled syringes or by injecting the animals themselves or . All farm holding numbers using each dose bottle has to be registered on the vaccine prescription.
