Support Groups

Did you know that the RBST has a network of regional volunteer support groups throughout the UK?

These support groups are an integral and important part of the RBST. Their volunteers help the Trust in a number of ways:-

• Recruiting new members
• Promoting the Trust and its work
• Mounting displays, usually incorporating livestock, at agricultural shows and other events
• Operating local networks for sales of livestock and offering advice and support to new breeders
• Representing the Trust through local media
• Involvement in regional livestock shows and sales
• Selling Trust merchandise and helping raise funds
• Giving talks to other interested groups, such as Young Farmers, Rotary Clubs, Women's Institute, etc
• Most groups offer a social calendar which often includes meetings, farm walks, meals, etc

The role of a Support group is to offer a main line of contact with the general public, many of whom are still unaware of the Trust or its work.
