As part of the next stage of our Equine conservation project, RBST is gathering data on what influences the decision to breed or not to breed our native equines and their partbreds.

Our British native equines and their partbreds can turn their hooves to anything. Our versatility survey (funded by HBLB) highlighted the widespread talents of the breeds with horses and ponies competing and achieving in all disciplines and undertaking work from ploughing to shepherding and horseback falconry. But what drives the decisions behind their breeding?

In order to improve RBST’s ability to support and conserve native equines, their breed societies and individual breeders and keepers we need to understand what drives the decision to breed our wonderful natives. To complete the breeding survey, please follow this link -
