To read the latest updates for RBST Scotland events, click here Spring Conference 2023 'Farm to Fork - A New Sustainable Perspective' 23 March - Bowhouse Farm, St Monans, Anstruther, Fife, KY10 2DB In March, a major conference arranged and hosted by RBST Scotland at, and supported by, Bowhouse, in Fife. The aim will be to provide the Scottish agricultural industry, policy makers, influencers and supporters with a thought-provoking event that will offer a challenge to the established view of the future of farming in Scotland and provide a new perspective on how we can feed the country and meet our responsibilities to our land, our biodiversity and our future including the attainment of net zero targets. For more information click here Food & Farming Sustainability Awards 2023 Following the success of the Inaugural awards last year, RBST Scotland will once again be celebrating those businesses and individuals who are making a real difference in Food and Farming with our Sustainability Awards. The Awards have been launched on 30th March 2023 and will once again be presented at the Royal Highland Show on Thursday 22nd June. For 2023, we have two new categories and a new way of judging. Entries now open, for full information on categories and nominations click here Edinburgh lunch A lunch in Edinburgh early in the year when RBST Scotland will be formally launched. Scottish Parliament In April, a reception at the Scottish Parliament. The Royal Highland Show 2023 22 - 25 June - Ingliston Showground RBST Scotland will once again be at the Royal Highland Show, at the Ingliston Showground. More information on the Show can be found here. We will be in the same pitch as last year, at the bottom of the Sheep Lines and opposite the Highland Hall. Hope that you can drop in and see us. This year the marquee will feature a number of seminars and discussions on Thursday and Friday as we continue to bring our message to farmers, smallholders and crofters about the benefits of rare and native breeds. For more information click here Approved Show and Sale - CANCELLED 7 August - Forfar Mart Unfortunately this has now been cancelled due to the Mart closure. Scottish Smallholders Festival - VENUE CHANGE (details below) 14 October - The Highland Hall, Royal Highland Showground, Edinburgh The group will be supporting the Festival by planning to major on an RBST 50th anniversary competition, offering prizes for best Rare Breeds in show, including a supreme show champion. Classes will be available for Watchlist breeds, and this should guarantee high levels of competition.
